For the past seven years, Vault has conducted an annual, comprehensive and detailed survey of law firm associates across the nation and around the world. The results of the associate survey are compiled for use in the Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms, now in its 7th edition.

For this year's survey, which was conducted in the spring of 2004, 14,062 associates from more than 120 law firms returned anonymous surveys to Vault in time to meet the deadline for this corporate research report.
